It is readily absorbed and reaches a good blood concentration in about 1 hour. When my cats were on clavamox the vet said to give it to my cat for 10-14 days or until the bottle is gone. This is an effective compounded combination because it is like Penicillin except that it has a much broader spectrum of antibacterial action while the Clavulanate effectively inhibits the beta-lactamase enzyme produced by bacteria that would otherwise make the Amoxicillin inactive.
